… And we’re back!
Apologies for our lack of communication as of late, but the regular weekly updates will now resume!
Barham
At long last we’re finally able to show you our Barham frame in it’s full glory! it took us two days to raise the frame, as you can see by its size thats no mean feat. As usual with our full house builds there will be many weeks on site to turn this frame into a home but the guys have already been beavering away between the thunderstorms to move things forward. We’re really exited to share the rest of this job with you as we hope you are to see it coming along! Keep your eyes peeled for more up dates in the near future.
Deal
We had a smaller project come through the workshop last week. Tasked with designing and building a porch for a renovation project in Deal (making a swan out of an ugly duckling as our client said), our boys turned this job out and had the frame raised in just under a week sometimes the small ones are the most fun. Here’s a video showing some of the work put into this build!
Park In The Past
We’ve recently been in contact with Park In The Past – a Welsh conservation group, and we are working with them to build a roman gate house for their most recent project. We’ve been sent a few computer generated images to design from and 3 of our framers will be heading up to Wales later in the month to get the project underway. We love a challenge and this will be a VERY cool build. Check out their website http://www.parkinthepast.org.uk/
Update From The Yard
Recently it has come to our attention that we may be needing a newer (more reliable) tele handler in the yard as repairing the older forks was becoming too much of a regular occurrence (Oak isn’t so light). So let us introduce our new team member – The Manitou MT625! This machine is about half the size of our biggest forklift and has the same capabilities if not more! This morning we were joined by a staff member from Glosrose and given a full tutorial of it’s features. Now that everybody is trained we can start putting it through it’s paces!
