Over the past few weeks the team have been very busy. The house is now fully insulated on the outside with all the battens timber fixed to the house. The garage has also been built with us pitching the roof. The roofers started at the beginning of on July and have at this point finished the garage roof and have made a good start on the main roof. The house has also been sand blasted!! The electricians have been in and have run all the cables through out the house. The 150mm insulation has been put down for the underfloor heating and screed to go down. Next step, internal insulation and plaster board. This build feels like its going by so fast.
There has been a lot happening at the yard as well. We had a team of two come back to the yard about a month ago to make a start on the frames that were waiting to be built. They had few kit frame porches to do and they made start on the big build before being pulled away to make start on the new office with the rest of the team. For the past 20 years the Norton’s have been working in an old cabin that was second hand when they bought it so it is time for an upgrade. So after the old one was moved and the pads were poured for the base we got on with putting it up.
After getting the office to a point we were happy with we then moved on to our next “big” build. This build is a sunroom extension with some HUGE s bracing in it. To cut these huge braces we use our Mafell carpenters chainsaw which is a beast and managed to cut all 4 of these braces beautifully. This frame is about half way through and should be being raised next month.
